WHAT GOOD IS REPENTANCE IF..

 

Hierdie e-mail wat vir my gestuur was, het my weer laat dink.

Ek ken 'n man baie goed, wat in die tronk beland het omdat hy iets baie oneerliks gedoen het.

In die tronk het hy baie tyd gehad om te studeer en het so ook 'n hele paar Christelike sertifikate verkry.

Hy is nou uit die tronk uit en het meer Christelike sertifikate as wat ek ooit sal hê en tog is hy nog steeds oneerlik maar op 'n ander manier en hy noem dit:

"Ek sien maar net 'n geleentheid en gebruik dit."

Tog glo hy dat hy op pad is hemel toe.

 

Hebrews 6:1

 

What good is repentance from one thing if we simply turn to something else instead? If we are to turn from dead works we must ensure that we turn toward a new and living way, a way that is and remains pleasing to God.

 

Hebrews 11:6 says, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." The only way to please God is to have faith. We must come to God we must believe that He is God, and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. Without these we can and will never please God. Without faith I will not come, I will not believe that He is God and I will not seek Him because I see no benefit in it. No matter what we turn from, unless we turn to God in this way we will not please Him and we will not find Him. We may change our bad habits and even display good morals, but we'll be chasing shadows. It is not good enough to seek a god in the best way we know how. It is essential that we seek the one true God and find Him, not by the knowledge of men but by the declaration of Himself and by the declaration of the Word. I repent from confidence in my ability, die to myself so that I can allow Christ to live in me.

 

Prayer: Lord, please help me not to look away from You but to trust You
