WE LOOK LIKE JESUS TO THE EVIL FORCES

 

Hierdie is vir my 'n uitsonderlike goeie uiteensetting van Efe 6 verse 11 tot 14 maar ek gooi sommer vers 15 vir die lekker daarvan ook in.

Ek kwoteer hier net die verse wat die skrywer van hierdie uitstekende e-mail wat vir my gestuur was gebruik en dan ook een of twee ander verse, wat ek glo van toepassing is.

 

EFE 6:11 Trek die volle wapenrusting van God aan, sodat julle staande kan bly teen die liste van die duiwel.

EFE 6:12 Want ons worstelstryd is nie teen vlees en bloed nie, maar teen die owerhede, teen die magte, teen die wêreldheersers van die duisternis van hierdie eeu, teen die bose geeste in die lug.

EFE 6:13 Daarom, neem die volle wapenrusting van God op, sodat julle weerstand kan bied in die dag van onheil en, nadat julle alles volbring het, staande kan bly.

EFE 6:14 Staan dan vas, julle lendene met die waarheid omgord, met die borswapen van die geregtigheid aan,

EFE 6:15 en as skoene aan julle voete die bereidheid vir die evangelie van vrede.

 

Ephesians 6:11, 13, 14

 

After putting on the armour, we are to stand against the devil. The Bible does not tell us to stand for a while and then fall down!

No, it says, after doing all things to stand, stand!

One does not put on armour if you are not expecting an attack. Therefore the attack will come, but with the armour on, you can remain standing. Without the armour we will be so vulnerable that we will be blown over by the slightest encounter with these principalities and powers. They are described as hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places, and they are trying to unseat us from our position of power with Christ, by getting us to partake in things that are evil. Of course, they come to us in disguise (2 Cor.11:14), but, with the armour on and armed with the Word, we will be able to see through their masks.

 

2KOR 11:14 En geen wonder nie! Want die Satan self verander hom in 'n engel van die lig.

 

Notice that there is no armour for the back of the believer; the breastplate covers the front, because we are to stand and face and quench those fiery darts with our shield of faith, not turn around and run away! The moment we start acting in fear, we become open targets. Finally, standing in this armour, it covers us completely and we look like Jesus to the evil forces: they will flee! The will of God will never take you where the peace of God cannot calm your fears.

 

Gal 3:27 want julle almal wat in Christus gedoop is, het julle met Christus beklee.

 

Prayer: Lord, help me to remain standing
